Two small Lancaster businesses are among 43 statewide to share in $245,000 in grants to spur energy efficiency and pollution prevention.
The local recipients of the grants are Rockville Management in Elizabethtown and Stanley J. Weaver Trucking in Reinholds.
The Small Business Advantage grants were announced today by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
Rockville Management got a $5,100 grant to put toward the $10,300 cost of buying and installing a high-efficiency water heater.
Weaver Trucking got a $4,300 grant to put toward the $8,600 cost of buying and installing an auxiliary power unit, to reduce engine idling during loading, unloading and rest times.
To be eligible for the grants, businesses must have fewer than 100 employees and contribute half of the project cost.
Since 2004, the program has invested $5.3 million in 1,451 small businesses.
