Campbell Co. was awarded $215,000 in federal grant money Wednesday to help grow small businesses.
The funding came from the Appalachian Regional Commission, or ARC, to help establish an assistance center to help small businesses get off the ground.
"This money will allow us to start an incubator program that will allow us to grow our own jobs here in the county," said Campbell Co. Mayor William Baird. "People that have an idea of a business they'd like to do."
Mayor Baird says businesses that go through an incubator program have around a 70 percent success rate, compared with a 50 percent rate for those that don't.
