The Small Business Development Center at Paris Junior College will offer a workshop as well as free counseling for current and prospective small business owners in the Sulphur Springs area during the month of March, according to Director Bradley Gottshalk.
Create Your Own Job - Start Your Own Business will be offered from 9-11 a.m. on Friday. This free workshop will include information needed to start a small business. The workshop will be presented at the Paris Junior College - Sulphur Springs Center located at 1202 W. Houston. .
Free, confidential counseling to start or expand a small business is offered by appointment every Friday in Sulphur Springs at the PJC Center. To make an appointment, or to register for the workshop contact the center at 903-885-1232.
Free training for small businesses
PJC and the SBDC can now offer businesses free training with grants from Texas Workforce Commission.Through the Skills for Small Business grant program, business owners and employees can apply for free tuition and fees for any PJC course, credit or non-credit (limited to $1,450 for new employees and $725 for existing employees). New employees include those employees hired within three months of TWC receiving the application. Businesses with 99 employees or less are eligible for this grant program. Through the Entrepreneurial Training Grant, business owners or persons interested in starting a new business, can apply for free training (limit of $500 per person).

The Small Business Development Center is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Texas, and Paris Junior College.
